It sounds like a good year to hand multiple myeloma its walking papers. I am tired of having to say 'farewell' to the myeloma friends that I've made across the world.  have been some rough spots during my last three years of treatment for 
multiple myeloma, but when it gets particularly bad, I think of a 
short-list of people or groups whom have shown extraordinary courage under fire,

Congratulations are in order to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' Myeloma Institute  for Research and Therapy (MIRT) for hitting the milestone of treating its 10,000th multiple myeloma patient. Since MIRT's founding 22 years ago, patients have traveled to Little Rock from all 50 of the United States and more than 50 different countries.

One of things that I really love to do is watch my oldest daughter, Katie, participate in sports. She's grown up playing volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball and running track. Something that I try to do, despite my challenges with Myeloma, is to celebrate the 'everyday' things that come my way. As MM crept in with the subtlety of a two-by-four hitting me between the eyes, those charming slices of life have become even more important to me. Watching my children have fun, for instance.

IRS Instructions
"You can deduct only the part of your medical and dental expenses that exceeds 7.5% of the amount on Form 1040, line 38."


 I wonder if I have enough medical expenses to qualify?






...... uh, yeah.

Our teenager, Kate, and her friends, helped 'produce' the event by 'hiding' plastic eggs in the fenced-in playground behind the church. Lizzie, our six year old, joined her driven-by-their-sweet-teeth buddies in the 'finding' of the Easter eggs.

For this I am truly grateful! Chilly and damp outside, but warm and toasty inside on this Spring Break week in Branson.
